On Friday, May 20th, Bethany Grace, our 23 year old daughter was riding her bike in Spokane Wa. While riding down a steep hill she fell and hit her head. She had no helmet on.
She currently is in the NURO ICU ward at Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane. She has been here for 4 days, starting on her 5th.
We were called to the hospital by the Chaplin at 4:50 in the morning. We met with the doctor and he didn’t give us much hope. He said we needed to consider what Bethany wanted before we started heroic measures.
Other than being shocked, my wife and I didn’t hesitate; we said we wanted to start the process!
Bethany’s brain had received a severe blow and was swelling and the only way to affectively reduce the swelling was to remove a large portion of her skull on the right side of her head.
After the surgery she was placed in ICU where she is plugged into a slew of machines.
We have seen miraculous progress in Beth and want to give God all the credit.
We serve a loving, caring, POWERFUL God and as we wait for Beth to heal, we want to continue to give God all the praise and honor.
We ask that you pray for Beth today for these specific needs:
-
That her brain continues to heal and the swelling to stop. The swelling is messured by an ICP number. Anything lower than 15 is good. Currently it is at 15.
-
That her temperature returns to normal. Currently it is at 100.9
-
That they remove the vent tube very soon. Bethany is constantley attempting to grab the tube with her left hand, so much so that they’ve had to tie it down.
-
That God continues to work a miracle in our precious baby.
