Update 6/8/2011 – 11:23 am

08 Jun

Sitting here with Beth this morning after having completed her PT and OT sessions.  She was looking very tired so I sang an old song that I learned from a friend of mine back in the Air Force, “Hobo’s Lullaby”

Bethany mouthed the words along with me, so then I looked up the lyrics and together we sang it through a few times. (She’s still humming it as she tries to fall asleep)

Hobo's Lullaby by Goebel Reeves

Go to sleep you weary hobo
Let the towns drift slowly by
Can't you hear the steel rail humming
That's a hobo's lullaby

Do not think about tomorrow
Let tomorrow come and go
Tonight you're in a nice warm boxcar
Safe from all the wind and snow

I know the police cause you trouble
They cause trouble everywhere
But when you die and go to heaven
You won't find no policemen there

I know your clothes are torn and ragged
And your hair is turning grey
Lift your head and smile at trouble
You'll find happiness some day

So go to sleep you weary hobo
Let the towns drift slowly by
Don't you feel the steel rail humming
That's a hobo's lullaby

That is great the Hobo’s Lullaby and she joined right in.

I just read the song to Joe because i don’t know how the song goes. Watched the youtube clip so now I know how it sounds.

I checked the yesterdays entry this morning and was so happy to hear the improvements and tonight entry. I thanked everyone at work again today for there prayers and filled them in on the improvements and are still sending the prayers out.

    Love you all XXXXOOO

We have carried you in our hearts and prayers while in St. Louis and now home again. Many prayer-warrior friends have joined us. I believe Bethanny’s great progress is evidence of our loving Lord’s presence in her life and the throngs of His people lifting up her healing and your burden into Jesus loving arms. god’s Spirit is alive and working mighty wonders. .Sue

I should have commented on the picture. It’s one that Beth drew. She wrote up a “zine” (a travel log of sorts about her train rides from one coast to the next and everything in between…and she didn’t travel on the “inside” of the train!) Again, once of these days I will scan it and post it.
